Kings Mountain School offers a balanced education that prepares students for college and 21st century careers. In addition to rigorous academics, Kings Mountain School students receive instruction in social emotional learning, art, music and physical education. Students have access to a fully-stocked library supported by volunteer parent librarians. Teachers receive training in Columbia University’s Reading and Writing Workshop, a rich and engaging literacy program. Students develop and learn the foundational skills needed for academic success when they move on to Cunha Middle School, which in turn prepares them for rigorous classes at Half Moon Bay High School.
Kings Mountain School offers a small school environment with a multi-age program where all students are known and noticed by all teachers and staff, fostering social-emotional health along with academic success. The small school environment also promotes a strong supportive parent community. The school motto is, ‘It takes a mountain!’
